Nubia’s Futuristic Watch Wraps 4″ Of Touchscreen Around Your Wrist

When curved displays started making their rounds last year, we knew that it wouldn’t be long before some of our favorite genres began to adopt the tech. As one might surmise, both the cellular device world and wristwear market were primed and ready for the integration of this innovative display technology, with the latter taking on double duty due to its inherent versatility. Despite this, many companies have fallen short of the mark with their unique, curved timekeepers — until now.

The genre’s most recent project, a self-titled watch dubbed the “Nubia,” is the latest offering to capitalize on curved display technology, adopting a four-inch frontal OLED that places statistics like heart-rate, sleep quality, pulse monitoring and other activity-driven metrics within your line of sight. Its 960×192 smart display features a sharp 244ppi pixel density, working in tandem with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 chip to keep you up-to-date via various built-in apps. While it might not be the next “big” thing within the curved display space, this durable IP54 dust- and water-resistant wonder is a step in the right direction for wristwear manufacturers. Head over to Nubia’s Kickstarter to reserve one of the brand’s first models for $200.
