1988 BMW R80RT ‘V08’ By Vagbund Moto

For most folks, one custom motorcycle is about all they need (or can afford). But, for one of Vagabund Moto’s more well-to-do customers, it’s gotten to the point where they’re ordering bikes based on changes in the weather. Or at least that’s the case with the shop’s newest build: a 1988 BMW R80RT they’ve named ‘V08.’

Built to be a minimalist daily driver for warmer days, this summer brat has been pared down to just the essentials, without sacrificing on slick styling. It’s long list of swapped out parts and upgrades include a slimmer R75/5 fuel tank, shortened handlebars, tucked away wiring, a modified R100R exhaust unit, and 3D-printed controls. All told, this gorgeous bike is a perfect example of the concept of “less is more” and encompasses just how much attention to the smallest of details can benefit the overall beauty of a 2-wheeler.
