Ducati Dressed Ten Anniversary Bikes in Liveries Pulled Straight From Its Racing Past

A hundred years is a long time for any company to stick around, especially one that spent its first two decades building radio components instead of motorcycles. But Ducati got there, and to celebrate, the Borgo Panigale outfit has gone properly big.

And we’re not talking about a single anniversary bike. No, forget that. Ducati rolled out ten of them, all pulled out of the wraps at Mugello during the Italian MotoGP round.

Ten Models, Ten Liveries, 100 of Each

The Collezione 100 reaches across Ducati’s entire on-road lineup, dressing one bike from each model family in a paint scheme lifted from the brand’s history. Every one of the ten will be capped at 100 units worldwide to keep things extra exclusive.

From the Vault

Some of the pairings sell themselves. For instance, the Panigale V4 S 100 wears the glittery silver of the 750 Imola Desmo that Paul Smart rode to victory at the 1972 Imola 200 – a historic day that saw Ducati beating Giacomo Agostini’s MV Agusta on home soil and stamped its name on the sportbike map.

The Diavel V4 RS 100 revives the 1979 900 Replica that followed Mike Hailwood’s fairytale 1978 Isle of Man TT win, while the Streetfighter V4 S 100 brings back the black-and-gold Darmah and its tiger-head graphic.

The Monster 100 nods to the 2008 S4Rs Tricolore that closed out the original Monster’s run, and the XDiavel V4 100 salutes the “California Hot Rod” Cook Neilson rode to win Daytona in 1977, the first time an Italian machine won a production-based race on American soil.

Then there are the deep cuts. The DesertX 100 borrows from the 1981 Pantah “Ice,” a studded-tire oddity Ducati built to entertain crowds on frozen Alpine tracks between car races.

What Earns the 100 Badge

Naturally, the upgrades run a bit deeper than just the paint. Every bike also gets Alcantara or leather seating with an embroidered Ducati 100 logo, Centenario Bronze trim on the calipers and fuel cap, and a serialized plate riveted to the triple clamp.

Most also gain a dry clutch, including the V2 models for the first time (the Scrambler 100 and DesertX 100 sit it out.) And, of course there’s some swag to go with it. Each one comes with a color-matched rear stand, a bike cover, a certificate of authenticity, a custom start-up animation, and two signed prints by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo, who painted each bike and the historic machine that inspired it.

Pricing & Availability

Ducati has not announced pricing, which, given the carbon trim and one-of-a-hundred exclusivity, probably means it will not be cheap. With only 100 units of each model worldwide, registering interest on Ducati’s website is the move. The collection tours World Ducati Week in early July before heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
