Global custom builders Deus Ex Machina were quick to get their hands on a Ducati Scrambler, and the result, billed as the Hondo Grattan, looks pretty special.
Unveiled at Verona’s Motor Bike Expo, the bike showcases new aluminum bodywork, a single-piece tail, a speedway-inspired headlight, asymmetric mudguards, a dedicated exhaust, positioning of the conic filter within the frame, and a vivid paint scheme. But what about the name? Deus Italy’s Filippo Bassoli explains: “The name comes from Carby, creative director of Deus Australia, who was in Milan at the time; he saw the project when it was almost complete and fell in love with it, naming it Hondo Grattan, after the horse that won everything on the Harold Park race-track. Who knows, in the not-too-distant future, perhaps our bike will end up on that track too.” Well done, Deus.
