The vast majority of everyday carry items sport bare alloy finishes, fully-blacked-out schemes, or various earth tones. A hue that’s far rarer in the EDC space is white — in fact it’s almost certainly one of, if not the most seldom-seen color found cloaking everyday carry gear. Selection & Testing

When we set out to uncover our favorite all-white everyday carry essentials on the market, we kicked off our search by first making a list of parameters that we would use to guide our hunt. For starters, rather than limiting our selections to pieces of gear with completely all-white finishes, we opened our search up to any piece of kit that feature’s a primarily white color scheme. With our standard for color nailed down, we then proceeded to scour the key everyday carry segments — the best EDC knives, best EDC flashlights, best EDC wallets, best EDC watches, etc — for some of the best available options that sport a primarily-white finish. By examining areas such as materials, size, performance, and durability, we were then able to generate a shortlist of items that we suspected may stand as some of the best whiteout EDC gear on the market. 

With our shortlist picks locked in, we then proceeded to source examples of every item comprising said shortlist in order to get hands-on with every piece of gear. This ultimately allowed for side-by-side testing, plus revealed additional info and intel that can only be gleaned firsthand, such as each item’s ergonomics and level of craftsmanship and build quality. We then used our firsthand findings to narrow our shortlist down to a final selection of products that we found to be the best whiteout EDC essentials.

Field Notes Birch Bark

Founded by graphic design legend Aaron Draplin — also the force behind Draplin Design Co. — Field Notes has spent the better part of the last two decades producing some of the very best everyday carry notebooks that money can buy. Alongside its regular models, Field Notes also routinely releases limited edition drops — the 60th of which is the Field Notes Birch Bark Fall 2023 Quarterly Edition. Taking inspiration from the light-colored bark covering the mighty Birch tree, this limited run of notebooks sports a lightly-speckled and lightly-textured pale Birch-color cover contrasted via staples with accenting colors. 

Made in America, the Field Notes Birch Bark notebooks are comprised of 3.5” x 5.5” booklets each containing 48 pages of graph paper sandwiched between their limited edition Birch-themed covers. The Victorinox Climber is a tried-and-true piece of everyday carry kit that’s as pocketable as it is utilitarian. Spanning just 3.6” (when closed) and weighing less than 3oz, this Swiss Army Knife packs over a dozen integrated tools and functions including a large blade, a corkscrew, a can opener, 3mm and 6mm screwdrivers, a bottle opener, a wire stripper, a reamer, a sewing awl, folding scissors, a multipurpose hook, tweezers, and a toothpick — all sandwiched between a set of Cellidor scales finished in pearl white. 

Pound for pound, the Victorinox Climber affords a tremendous amount of utility without requiring you to carry a full-size Leatherman-style butterfly-opening multi-tool. At less than $50, we’d also argue that it offers pretty terrific value as well. 

RovyVon Aurora A3 G4

The RovyVon Aurora A3 G4 is the very definition of an EDC torch that punches above its weight. Despite spanning just 2.26” in length, the fourth-gen Aurora A3 comes loaded with 650 lumens on tap — placing it on par with a great many EDC flashlights that are several times larger (and in some cases also cost several times more). Whether carried on a keychain or in your pocket, the Aurora A3 G4 makes for an exceptional everyday carry light.

The TSUBOTA PEARL Hard-Edge Petrol Lighter is a Japanese-made alternative to the iconic Zippo that’s a bit more unique and a bit more high-end. This particular version of the Hard-Edge Petrol Lighter uses a standard insert set inside of a polycarbonate housing with a etched frosted white finish.
