LA Clippers swingman Paul George is a big fan of the Sony Playstation. He’s so big a fan, in fact, that the seven-time All-Star’s latest signature shoe from Nike is an official Playstation 5 collab.
The Nike PG 5 PlayStation 5 takes its styling cues from the blockbuster next-gen gaming console, with a white and black upper with gray and blue accents that mimics the PS5’s already-iconic color pattern. The shoes also contain a number of more overt references to Sony’s hardware, with PlayStation and DualSense logos showing up on the insole, outsole, forefoot band, heel overlay, and tongue. Underneath the PS5 skin is the same PG 5 on-court players are already familiar with, boasting a signature full-length Air Strobel unit that’s stitched directly into the shoe’s upper for closer cushioning. Nike has released PlayStation-themed versions of the PG line in past years, but none have so clearly and effectively captured the essence of their gaming inspiration. The Nike PG 5 Playstation 5s are set to be released on May 27.
