Recovery footwear has really starting becoming its own category, and we think it’s starting to hit its crescendo. In the past year or so, Nike alone has shipped a self-massaging Hyperice boot, the sensory-node Mind 001 mule, and a slip-on sneaker engineered for doing, well…absolutely nothing. A taller, colder-weather follow-up was pretty much inevitable at this point. The shape it arrived in, however, caught us a bit off guard. Meet the Nike 24.7 Recovery Boot.

Rest Day Gets a Winter Uniform
The 24.7 name started life in January 2025 as an apparel line full of four-way stretch fabrics was purpose built to both lounge and train in. Footwear followed this year with the $140 24.7 sneaker, which Nike pitched with the tagline “you’d never skip leg day, so why skip rest day?”

The boot is the next up in the lineup. For $20 more, you get a taller, winter-ready take on the same idea, wrapping the foot in suede-textured leather with a heavily padded collar that feels sort of Ugg-inspired.

About That Heel
Now, the part the entire sneaker community is talking about. Head around to the back of the shoe, and the leather folds into a stack of sculpted heel ridges. It’s clearly heavily inspired by the Air Yeezy 2 silhouette, and Nike’s sure to get plenty of community “feedback” for the decision.

And, in case you need a history lesson, Ye designed the Air Yeezy 2 with Nike in 2012, then famously bolted for adidas over royalties the following year.
Over a decade later, with both of those partnerships long dead, the most distinctive styling cue on Nike’s coziest new shoe traces right back to his tenure.

Bellows, Pods, and a Coral Surprise
Underfoot is where all of the recovery claims reside. A stacked foam midsole built around what Nike calls “bellowed compression” squishes (almost like an accordion) to help it stay soft without bottoming out. It’s also outfitted with a high sidewall to keep your foot centered on top of it all.
Bright coral pods sit inside the segmented Duralon outsole to absorb impact and add a little spring, while a hidden pop on an otherwise earth-toned shoe. The official images also show “easyon” printed on the insoles and “revive” embossed on the midsole, so the hands-free entry from the 24.7 sneaker appears to carry over.
