Since 2015, the design team at UNIMATIC has been churning out gorgeous, limited-edition watches, each one seemingly selling out more quickly than the previous release. Over this timespan, the brand has amassed quite the cult following, and it’s easy to see why given their impressive attention to detail and craftsmanship – not to mention their reasonable price points. Building upon that reputation, the minimalist microbrand has just released their most ruggedized watch to date; the limited edition UT4-B.

Equipped with mil-spec 360-degree drop protection, the chunky 40mm case was literally built to take a beating in the field. Combining the ideal specs from field and dive watches, this reimagined construction starts with a TPU shell that helps keep both the dial and movement safe from harm, and protected from drops across all sides. And thanks to the sand-blasted steel finish mated to a monoblock bezel, it also looks good while doing it. Powered by a Seiko VH31 movement – the same one used in recent UT4 releases – the quartz-powered UT4-B is also water-resistant up to 300 meters.

Although considered to be a field watch, the UT4-B was designed with everyday practicality in mind, fitting comfortably in any situation, whether it be the golf course or a black-tie event. The black and silver are complemented by the pale green on the outer dial giving it a subtle look. In between the black nylon keeper two-piece strap are a matte black dial with printed Arabic numerals, markers in Super-LumiNova C3, and dark gray dial trims which add to the sleek subtlety

This is a limited edition run of only 300 watches, so it’s best to act fast, knowing how quickly they tend to sell out. At €400 (~$440), this is one of UNIMATIC’s most affordable watches and is available now through their website.
