Since debuting in 1983, Land Rover’s Defender has become a symbol of rugged capability and class, whether you’re looking at it from afar or sitting behind the wheel. Now, the marque has partnered with a fellow British watch company known for its striking collaborations that elevate its subjects on an aesthetic level, creating some of the most stylish and evocative timepieces in the world.

Bamford London has just unveiled its limited-edition LR001, an automatic watch designed by Land Rover using the design language of the Defender SUV. The sleek 40mm gray titanium case surrounds a deceptively minimalist dial of the same color, with cutaway slots that lume green in low light and featuring the watch’s name in Bamford’s signature aqua blue color at the 6 o’clock spot.

Sporting both brand’s names inscribed in the caseback, the quasi-monochromatic timepiece also houses a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1b automatic movement, finished in refined ruthenium anthracite and with 41 hours of power reserve. Available in four bio-based leather-like Nato straps, the LR001 also comes in a classy translucent acrylic box.
