Timex’s Ironman Adrenaline Kills Its Digital Display at the Press of a Button

Timex and Ironman have been running together since the mid-’80s. In fact, it’s been a partnership solidified for so long that the name is basically shorthand for cheap, indestructible training watches. When the duo dropped the Adrenaline back in 2024, we were smitten with its best feature, an ana-digi display that could go full analog at the press of a button. And now, two years later, Timex has circled back with a pair of refreshed Ironman Adrenaline models that trade that loud aesthetic for something a bit more subtle.

Now You See It, Now You Don’t

The signature move we loved from the previous version is still fully intact on this refresh. Simply hold the 4 o’clock pusher for a few seconds and the negative LCD blinks out completely, which leaves you staring at a clean three-hander with luminous hands. And simply press the pusher again to bring the whole readout back.

Behind that screen sits the usual Ironman toolkit of 50-lap memory, countdown timer, daily alarm, and a second time zone, with INDIGLO handling lights-out legibility. There’s even a unidirectional steel bezel for tracking elapsed time, meaning you can clock a run without a single pixel involved.

Finally Dressed for the Job

So then what’s actually new here? Well, it’s mostly the wardrobe. The 2024 model’s black-and-orange scheme has been benched for two far more muted options. There’s a sand version with a matching strap and blacked-out bezel, and a black model wearing a dark blue strap.

And while we did love the 2024 version, the makeover makes the whole concept click a bit better. A watch built to go incognito always felt a slightly strange wearing safety orange in the first place. The 46.5mm resin case is still a big boy at 52mm lug-to-lug and 15mm tall, but it does only weigh in at 56.73 grams.
