JANE and Crescent Down Works Release a Sashiko Fabric Capsule

While JANE Motorcycles markets a lot of its outerwear as workwear, its style, design, and premium quality make its garments more than suitable to wear anywhere. The same thing could be said about the outerwear from Crescent Down Works, a Seattle-based brand that specializes in making exceptional down products. Given both brands’ propensity to source premium materials, as well as their pride in selling locally-crafted goods, it’s no wonder the two brands collaborated to make a limited edition, bi-coastal capsule featuring Japanese Sashiko fabric.

The JANE x Crescent Down Works Sashiko capsule features two handsome-looking pieces of outerwear: a down shirt jacket and a down vest. For those unfamiliar with the term, Sashiko is a style of Japanese stitching or embroidery that translates to “little stabs,” due to the small stitches used in this style of needlework. It primarily uses indigo-dyed cotton, which creates a ribbed texture that gives off a denim-like appearance. Aside from the striking texture and design, Sashiko also enhances the durability of clothes, which makes this capsule all the more interesting. Even better, due to the natural properties of Sashiko fabrics, they fade with age, developing a deeper character. While the winter essentials included in this capsule appear heavy, the Sashiko stitching used to construct them actually makes them lightweight in nature. Despite the shirt jacket and vest being lightweight, they still feature 11 oz. 700 fill power white goose down in their construction for optimal insulation. Furthermore, both garments sport a super soft nylon lining to keep you comfortable through even the coldest conditions.

Both standout pieces from the JANE x Crescent Down Works Sashiko capsule are available on JANE’s website now, with the vest priced at $550 and the shirt jacket going for $850.
