In the Spring of 2021, boutique Italian upstart Kimera Automobili announced that it would be producing a limited run of high-performance supercars designed as a contemporary homage to Lancia’s legendary mid-engined Group B racer, the 037. Appropriately dubbed the EVO37, this hand-built tribute car’s production was limited to just 37 units worldwide — all of which were quickly spoken for despite a more than half-million-dollar price tag. And after delivering its initial limited run of cars, Kimera has now pulled the cover off of its next project, an automotive homage to the Lancia Martini World Rally Championship team.

Developed through a collaboration with both Martini Racing and former Italian rally driver and ex-Martini Lancia pilot Massimo “Miki” Biasion, this limited edition model (and its name) pay homage to the Martini Lancia WRC team that managed to amass 7 major victories, with WRC Drivers’ titles in ’87, ’88, ’89, and ’91 and Constructors’ titles in ’83, ’87, and ’92. This limited edition model features a revised carbon fiber aero package complete with new front splitters, side skirts, NACA ducts, “nolder” front grille extractors, and a rear bumper that can now easily be removed thanks to a new quick-release system. Putting the car’s new ceramic-coated double-cone exhaust system and engine on display, this removable section was modeled directly after item used on the original Group B era 037. The biggest update to the bodywork, however, comes in the form of a modernized take on a hood-mounted four-unit LED light pod.

The exterior of the vehicle wears an officially-licensed Martini race livery while its interior features a host of Martini logos and special Martini livery-themed accent stitching throughout. The EVO37 Martini 7 also rides on a newly-designed set of wheels that take inspiration from the legendary Group B racer. The 500-hp 2.1-liter inline-four found in the original EVO37 has been retuned and fitted with shorter gear ratios. This massaging has allowed it to now crank out an additional 50hp. Even more extensive use of carbon fiber and Kevlar have also allowed the Kimera team to shave a considerable amount of weight off of the original EVO37, with the Martini 7-spec weighing in at just 2,425lbs. The increased power and reduced weight together make for an even more high-performance experience behind the wheel — an area furthered by the car’s more effective aero kit.

Available for order now, the Kimera Automobili EVO37 Martini 7 will be limited to just 37 units globally. Pricing for the vehicle is available only upon request, though we anticipate it trumping the original EVO37’s roughly $530,000 price.
