Before Zuffenhausen, there was Gmünd, the tiny Austrian sawmill town where the earliest Porsches were assembled in the shadow of the Alps. Mountain passes weren’t quite yet marketing backdrop for the young company, but they did serve as the test track.
And now, nearly 80 years later, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has distilled all of that altitude into a single build, and it’s called the 911 GT3 Bergsport.
The Recipe Reads Like a Packing List
Underneath, this is a GT3 with Touring Package, which means the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six still makes 502 horsepower through a six-speed manual. And while we’re thankful none of the good stuff changed, Porsche did make some practical changes here.
The Lightweight Package’s magnesium wheels get swapped for tougher forged aluminum (real mountain roads are no place for delicate hardware), and a front axle lift handles the steep ramps and broken pavement you’re sure to encounter on the twisties.
There’s even a 90-liter fuel tank for long days above the tree line, plus you get actual rear seats. This might be the first GT3 special specced by someone who’s driven one somewhere other than a racetrack.
Painted Like a Postcard
The exterior is covered in Porsche’s Valleygreenmetallic colorway, which is new “Paint to Sample Plus” shade loaded with gold flake that shimmers and sparkles in sunlight. The wheels come finished off in a satin White Gold and Ceramica,, while a set of orange calipers referencing alpenglow (that brief blaze of light on the peaks at dawn and dusk) tie things together nicely.
The frunk lid carries a checkered flag motif nodding to the 908 Bergspyder hillclimber, while the engine cover badge stacks four Alpine summits (one for each country that gets the car).
About That Last Part
Unfortunately, the Bergsport is a market edition for Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland exclusively. Translation; we will (probably) not be getting these here in the states.
The car makes its debut on September 3 at the Arosa ClassicCar hillclimb in Switzerland, where Jörg Bergmeister will run it up all 76 corners of the 4.5-mile course.

Pricing & Availability
Porsche hasn’t announced pricing for the GT3 Bergsport, though with just 100 examples split across four Alpine countries, expect Exclusive Manufaktur money on top of an already spendy Touring. There’s also a full accessory line coming, including actual GT3 Bergsport skis made by HEAD for the 2027/2028 winter season.
