From the Pagani Unico program to Rolls-Royce Bespoke to the Maserati Fuoriserie Program to the Lamborghini Ad Personam, bespoke one-off vehicle building programs are all the rage these days amongst elite car builders looking to offer their most discerning cliental an even more exclusive option. And after successfully launching the brand, beginning production, and getting actual production vehicles on the road, 4×4 upstart INEOS has announced that it too will be rolling out a bespoke building program of its own — and seemingly taking aim at Range Rover’s SV Bespoke service.,
To kick things off, INEOS’ bespoke vehicle division — dubbed “Arcane Works” — has revealed the program’s inaugural offering, the INEOS Grenadier Detour.
The Basics
Unveiled at Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Grenadier Detour is a limited edition 4×4 that’s born out of a multi-way collaboration between INEOS’ all-new Arcane Works division and some of the finest artisans and craftsmen the UK has to offer. The Detour comes loaded with a generous host of model-exclusive features and details, plus gives buyers an additional bevy of configurable bespoke options.
BMW-Sourced Engine Options
The Grenadier Detour also gives buyers the option of selecting from one of two available BMW-sourced engine options. Paired with an automatic ZF transmission, the first motor option is the Bavarian brand’s urbocharged B58 3.0-liter straight-six, which cranks out 282hp and 332ft-lbs of torque. The second is BMW’s B57 3.0-liter turbo-diesel straight-six, which puts down 245hp and 406ft-lbs of torque. Both engines also come fitted with a Detour-exclusive exhaust system.
Capabilities
Able to tow up to 7,716lbs, the Grenadier Detour gains an enormous plethora of special model-exclusive features, though still retrains the regular Grenadier variant’s impressive go-anywhere capabilities — which take the form of having over 10” of ground clearance, 31.5” wading depths, and approach, breakover, and its departure angles of 35.5°, 28.2°, and 36.1°, respectively
Exterior Details
Riding on a model-exclusive set of 18” forged alloy wheels, Grenadier Detour gains a specially designed front grille with headlight surrounds, de-colored lighting, and a specially-created contrast pack with new color options for the model’s included front and rear skid plates, roof rails, and rear ladder. The vehicle also features four new model-exclusive color options — Magma Red, Whiteout Blue, Squall Green, and Storm Force Silver — that are all sprayed and polished entirely by hand.
Interior Aspects
The Grenadier Detour’s cabin is even more luxurious than the already-plush standard 4×4. The cabin gives buyers the choice between two different satin finishes adorning the transmission tunnel, doors, and air-vents. Tactile leathers and fabrics have also been used to trim all key driver touch points and the interior gives the option of quilted seats upholstered in one of four fine-grain Bridge of Weir leathers. It doesn’t end there, as the cabin also gets two cashmere options courtesy of Johnstons of Elgin for the headlining, laser-etched aluminum door scuff plates, and Arcane Works exterior and interior badging created by famed British jewelers, Vaughtons.
Details Expected To Trickle Down
Alongside showcasing the Grenadier Detour, INEOS has also announced that its first bespoke model will serve as something of a test bed for new technologies, features, and components, that may eventually trickle down to production models — including engine upgrades and mods, and new chassis systems, just to name a few.
