For more than 60 years, Honda has been producing petrol-powered cars, vans, trucks, and motorcycles. However, with looming mandates requiring auto-makers to transition to all-electric lineups, Honda has begun laying the foundation for what is slated to become the Japanese marque’s future flagship EV — a model that’s now being shown off in prototype form, giving the motoring public a taste of what’s to come.

Christened the Honda 0 Series Saloon Concept, this forthcoming flagship model aims to push the automotive envelop in just about every way possible. Putting a thoroughly sleek spin on classic wedge-shaped car designs, the 0 Series Saloon concept sports an unmistakably futuristic form, with a sloping roofline extending from the back of the car up to its truncated, rectangular front-end design. Flared fenders and ultra-idiosyncratic five-arm wheels give the concept an even more futuristic feel. What’s more, the concept also sports a new borderless “H mark” badge that will adorn the car-maker’s next-gen EVs.

Honda claims the Saloon will be capable of receiving a 15% to 80% charge in between 10 and 15 minutes. What’s more, the upcoming EV’s battery pack will also boast incredible longevity, with Honda targeting just a 10% loss in capacity after a full decade of use. Inside, the Saloon looks just as sleek, with sport-inspired seats and a yoke-style steering wheel. A single door on either side of the concept car also provides access to both its front and rear seats. Alongside the Saloon, Honda has also unveiled an additional 0 Series concept known as the Space-Hub — an equally sleek and futuristic-looking van-style vehicle with an interior that looks more like a boutique lounge than it does a typical vehicle cabin.

Though currently still in development, the Honda 0 Series Saloon Concept is expected to enter production in 2026. Honda’s new flagship EV will also be available in the U.S. market.
