Approximately two weeks ago, world-renowned American tuning firm and hypercar-maker Hennessey Performance Engineering pulled the cover off of its latest upgrade kit; the H700 supercharger package for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 supercar. Fast forward a fortnight later to today and the Texan tuner has now rolled out a version of the H700 kit for Chevy’s droptop C8 Corvette Stingray HTC (hard top convertible).

Starting with Chevy’s already-extremely-capable C8 Corvette, the H700 package sees the USA-made supercar’s mid-mounted LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine bestowed with a high-performance supercharger that’s been engineered specifically to fit in the HTC model’s compact engine compartment. The upgrade kit’s new forced induction system has been complemented via a new air induction system with an air-to-water intercooler. Also benefitting from the use of recalibrated high-performance engine management software, Hennessey’s supercharged take on the LT2 allows the V8 engine to crank out 44% more horsepower and 37% more torque. Accounting for a more than 200-hp bump in power, this translates to 708hp and 638ft-lbs of torque on tap.

Hennessey’s kit not only massively increases power — along with top speed and acceleration times — but it also sees the forced induction V8 sing through an all-new custom-fabricated cat-back exhaust system. It doesn’t end there, however, as the upgrade package is also being offered with an optional set of forged 19” five-arm Y-spoke alloy wheels. Other available upgrade options include a special ‘Hennessey C8 Heritage Livery’ and an even more high-end active-valve exhaust system. Though it still comes out to just north of the six-figure mark (with the costs of the C8 Vette and Hennessey’s new upgrade it), the H700-kitted Corvette actually offers pretty great value.

Backed by an industry-best three-year/36,000-mile warranty, the Hennessey Performance Engineering ‘H700’ Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray HTC upgrade package is available on all 2020-2024 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray HTC models — though is also offered for the hardtop. While pricing for the H700 Stingray HTC package has yet to be revealed, we imagine it will be similar — if not identical — to the $34,950 MSRP of the hard-top C8.
