Auction Block: 2009 Porsche Cayenne S Overland

Photos: Collecting Cars

With clean used examples often going for around $10,000 — even for the up-specced S variants — Porsche’s Cayenne has become an increasingly accessible and increasingly popular platform for building out hardcore off-road and overland rigs. And while buying a first-gen Cayenne can be a great way to obtain an affordable adventure build, an even more cost-efficient route is purchasing a pre-modified example like this Porsche Cayenne S overlander that’s soon scheduled to cross the auction block.

This 2009 Euro market-specimen has been treated to a lift-kit and an upgraded off-road suspension package, as well as truck bed-liner-sprayed front and rear bumpers, aftermarket fender flares, an aluminum skid-plate, and a full-length RC roof rack that now accommodates a quad-unit HELLA auxiliary light setup which is supplemented via a pair of grille-mounted spotlights. The Porsche’s stock paint job has also been complemented via the addition of retro-inspired quad-color stripes and special “RENO” graphics.

As an S-spec, this Cayenne overlander also features the upgraded variant’s 4.8-liter V8 engine — which is good for 385hp and 369ft-lbs of torque — as well as its automatic climate control with dual front-passenger settings, and premium 350-watt, 14-speaker Bose stereo system. The Cayenne S’s upgraded 18” wheels have, however, been jettisoned in favor of a set of ALPHAequipt Echo off-road wheels that are now wrapped in new Renegade R/T all-terrain tires.

Located in Madrid, Spain, this 2009 Porsche Cayenne S Overland build — which shows just over 110,000 original miles on the odo — is slated to cross the online auction block of Collecting Cars in the coming days, at which time more information will become available.
