Founded in the Netherlands though now boasting multiple locations scattered across the globe, Bliss Mobil is a multi-national outfit that specializes in turning container-sized shells into luxurious mobile dwellings that are then placed atop truck platforms to create luxurious and well-appointed off-roadable mobile homes. This made Bliss Mobil the perfect partner for American Expedition Vehicles when crafting its latest go-anywhere adventure rig, a Prospector XL 550 fitted with a bespoke container unit courtesy of Bliss Mobil.
The project started life as a Ram 5500 cab chassis heavy-duty pickup truck that was converted into an AEV Prospector XL Cab Chassis. Riding on heavy-duty wheels wrapped in massive 41” all-terrain tires, this go-anywhere platform features a 2” front lift kit, AEV HighMark front fender flares, and a custom AEV front bumper complete with a ComeUp 16.5 winch and dual aux spotlights, as well as a number of optional off-road upgrades from the Prospector XL such as an AEV intercooler skid plate, snorkel, splash guards, a 1” rear block lift, and an AEV 7000 Series off-road light kit. The cab’s roof has also been capped off with a custom roof rack housing a set of ROAM gear boxes.
Placed on the back of the Ram 5500’s chassis is a 13’ container dwelling custom-made by Bliss Mobil. Looking more like a tiny home than it does your average overlanding rig, this one-off habitat is incredibly well appointed and features a full kitchen, a bathroom with a full-sized shower and ceramic yacht-style toilet, and a separate bedroom with a full-sized matress. Above and beyond its unmistakably premium fit and finish, this build is made all the more special by its myriad of top-shelf touches including bespoke teak cladding, a giant skylight, modern high-end fixtures, a wall-mounted flat screen, and premium appliances, lighting, and systems throughout. What’s more, the aft-end of the container also features a custom rack that accommodates a late-model four-stroke Husqvarna FE enduro motorcycle.
While this particular project is already spoken for, Bliss Mobil — which has a North American division — is currently accepting commissions. The AEV Prospector XL Cab Chassis is also currently available for order with prices starting from $13,299.
