In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Pagani has unveiled its latest high-octane hypercar. Meet the Huarya’s successor: Utopia.
This incredible coupe is the result of over 4,000 drawings, a pair of full-scale models, and a boundless spirit of innovation that first kicked off over six years ago. Design-wise, it boasts a carbon monocoque-composed body accentuated by new composite materials like Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax, paving the way for enhanced strength and lightness. Moreover, each meticulous detail implemented into the Utopia’s body speaks volumes. As we move to the interior, they’ve shed the need for massive screens to evoke a sense of timelessness. It has also redesigned the steering wheel and pedals, which are machined from aluminum and metal.
The Pagani V12 engine is a 6-liter turbo built by Mercedes-AMG for Pagani that boasts 852hp and 811 lb-ft torque, all the while meeting emissions regulations throughout the states. In addition to this, Pagani partnered with Xtrac to create “the quickest shifting gearbox with helical gears possible.” Interestingly, its front end sits on a pair of 21” wheels while the rear features 22” wheels. This allowed the marque to reach a new level of creative freedom in the design process, resulting in a unique silhouette that is distinguishable on its sidewalls.
As the marque puts it, “Horacio Pagani is an artist, the car is his preferred way of expressing himself.” If that’s the case, he has designed yet another unfathomable work of art. While all 99 examples have already sold (each for approximately $2.17 million upon conversion), you can get a look at the Italian automaker’s gorgeous Utopia Coupe below.
