For Unimatic, less has always been more. Since debuting its minimalist watch template in 2015, the Italian firm has continued to churn out edition after edition, largely by just making slight changes in color or material. For the brand’s latest Series 8 limited editions, Unimatic was been inspired by the beautiful olive groves in central Italy’s Tuscany region.

Implementing the new Olive Drab color scheme on its Modello Uno (U1S-8O), Due (U2S-8O), Tre (U3-8O), and Quattro (U4S-8O) tool watch models, Unimatic has evoked the milieu of one of the most important locales when it comes to Italian cuisine and culture, and the notable birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. On each watch, the olive color has been given to the dials and straps (sold with two-piece TPO and seatbelt NATO options), while the hour markers and hands are colored with gold and coated with Super-LumiNova GL light old radium lume. As for the Uno and Tre, the bezels are also in olive green.

Using the slimmer take on the respective base models, the Uno, Due, and Quattro are each powered by a Sellita SW200-1 B movement. The Tre, on the other hand, gets a Seiko Meca-Quartz VK64A movement. Blending the capability of a diver with the function of a chronograph, this U3-8O reference is also the only piece that’s been revamped in its design. With the removal of the 24-hour subdial at the 3 o’clock spot, the watch sports even more of a minimalist aesthetic. Now, the remaining minutes subdial at the 9 position is moved so that it’s bookended with concentric circles on the top and bottom.

All four watches sport a 40mm stainless steel case with the exception of the Modello Due, which has a 38mm case. The Modello Series 8 Olive Drab timepieces are now available from Unimatic, limited to 400 pieces each. Prices range from €625 (~$673) to €925 (~$996).
