From the unique dial designs of the newest STAR BAR watches for the Cocktail Time series to the evocative duo of Kabuki-inspired Presage watches, Seiko’s latest timepieces have been nothing if not artistic and memorable. The Japanese watch giant is at it again with a trio of dive watches with dials inspired by underwater cave diving.
The Prospex collection has been Seiko’s flagship sports watch since it launched back in 1965; a favorite of adventurers and swimmers alike. The new Cave Diver pieces come in three beautiful colors — light blue, green, and turquoise — meant to evoke the ocean itself and the colors of the mineral deposits on the caves’ walls. Surrounded by two-tone gray bezels, the dials have also been given a stone-like texture.
A nod to the material of Seiko’s very first timepiece made for saturation diving, the titanium on the 43.5mm case is lightweight and coated to be nearly impossible to scratch. The ISO-certified divers have water resistance up to 200m and are powered by a caliber 6R35 automatic movement with a date window at the 3 o’clock spot.
The Seiko Prospex Cave Diver watches are available now through select retailers for around $1,500.
