TAD Is Selling Off the Prototype Backpacks From Its Custom Armory Bag Program

The FAST Pack Litespeed has long been one of Triple Aught Design’s most popular backpacks, and while the company has already offered the tactically-inspired bag in a variety of different colors, materials, and versions, TAD has now announced a new customization program for the FAST Pack Litespeed known as the Armory Build that allows customers to configure their own pack, selecting from a plethora of color options, materials, and accessories.

While bringing this custom-configurable pack to market, the team at TAD experimented with building out several dozen prototype specimens. With the Armory Builder program having now gone live, Triple Aught Design has opted to sell off the first 62 prototype bags produced over the course of the project’s development. Known as the Pilot Batch, this range of one-off backpacks also includes the new FAST Pack Litespeed: Sterile Edition.

Like the configurable Armory Build packs, the Pilot Batch units are made from a wide range of cutting-edge materials, including VX21, X50, X42, a textured 500-denier nylon, and a waxed canvas that’s been woven from a blend of CORDURA and cotton. The company is also using limited edition fabrics that are limited in yardage and availability. Made by hand at TAD’s North Carolina manufacturing facility, the Armory Build bags are available for configuration and order now on the company’s website, with a four-to-eight-week build time.

All 62 of Triple Aught Design’s Pilot Batch bags are now for sale, with pricing starting at $355. The custom-configurable FAST Pack Litespeed Armory Build backpacks also start at $355.

Purchase: $355+
