When Benchmade moved the entire Adamas family over to CPM MagnaCut back in July, we figured that was the big Adamas story of the year. As it turns out the brand was just getting warmed up.

Barely two months later, Benchmade is back with the Adamas 275-05, which swaps the G-10 scales for marbled carbon fiber and a healthy dose of copper-toned hardware.

The Mini Wore It First

This recipe, marbled carbon fiber paired with Flat Dark Earth accents, isn’t actually new to the family. The Mini Adamas ran it first, and the combination proved popular enough that Benchmade openly credits the little guy for inspiring this release.

Fans of the full-size version have been watching from the sidelines ever since, and now they finally get their turn.

Dressed Up and Slimmed Down

The 275-05 layers its black-and-gray marbled scales over steel liners that have been PVD-coated in FDE, with the thumb studs, pivot collar, and deep-carry clip all matching in that same warm, coppery finish.

Of course, carbon fiber weighs less than G-10, so this fancier Adamas checks in at 6.2 ounces. For context, the original D2-era Adamas was a 7.7-ounce brick, and like many, we welcome Benchmade’s continued approach towards lighter EDC folders.

The Business End Stays Put

You still get a 3.82-inch drop point in satin-finished MagnaCut, complete with the signature fuller, plus the same iconic AXIS lock Shane Sibert built the original around back in 2010.

It’s still made in the USA, and it’s still covered by LifeSharp for life. And if you prefer push-button deployment, there’s a matching Auto Adamas (the 2750-06) that runs even lighter at 5.83 ounces. That one will cost you an extra hundred bucks though.
