Finding the right dash cam is like finding a needle in a haystack. With many different options out there, few of which derive from any household name brands, narrowing down the suitable device is a mission… until now. Ring, the company behind everyone’s favorite home security cam, finally unveiled its Ring Car Cam at CES.
The dual-facing device is equipped with a pair of wide-angle HD cameras with Night Vision, ensuring it can capture detailed driving footage in all conditions. Additionally, it’s fitted with Two-Way Talk and Live View, much like the traditional Ring doorbell, allowing users to speak with anyone in the car directly from their smartphone, which seems like a much safer alternative to talking on speakerphone mid-driving.
Like most Ring products, you can only utilize these interactive features with an active Ring Protect Go subscription. Nonetheless, the additional price is likely worth it, considering you’ll be at ease about your car’s safety. It also features a built-in privacy cover that allows users to lock its cabin-facing camera, which automatically shuts off the device’s microphone. Best of all, the Ring Dash Cam mounts easily and sits on an arm that provides the optimized height to record inside and outside the car.
While it is currently available to pre-order for $200, this introductory price will end at the start of February.
