While they might not be as hot as they once were, Beats over-ears have been draped around necks in weight rooms and warm-up tunnels for the better part of two decades. Oddly enough, none of them were ever actually designed to survive a sweaty workout session. And that includes all the models across the catalog from the Studio Pro to everything that came before it.
That all changes today though with the Beats 360. It’s a ground-up rebuild of the brand’s flagship over-ear and it’s also the the first one ever to carry a legit IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating.

Engineered Around the Gym Bag
Going wireless is the first step that helped this Beats design succeed over its OG predecessors. With no cable snaking through the headband, Beats was able to tuck a custom chip into each earcup. They also ended up spending that same freed-up headband space to focus on the wearing experience including weight distribution and comfort.

The result weighs 294.5 grams, rides on telescoping stainless steel arms with independently rotating earcups, and folds flat into an included woven ripstop case.

Cushions That Come Off on Purpose
For the first time on any Beats headphone, both the ear cushions and the headband cushion are fully interchangeable, twisting off like swapping laces on a sneaker. As headphones delve deeper into the world of fashion, it’s a party trick we’re starting to see more across the board (we’re looking at your Nothing/CMF).

Performance Knit cushions wrap memory foam in a breathable woven knit built for training, while UltraPlush kits use the same engineered leather as the Studio Pro for studio and work sessions at the desk. Beyond the four core colorways, kits add Navy and a really rad electric Volt green.

Outside of the aesthetics, there’s also some serious practical upside here too. Earpads are the first thing to die on any headphone, and Beats just turned them into a cheap consumable swap.

The Best-Sounding Beats Ever, Allegedly
Beats claims the 360 is the best-sounding headphone it’s ever made, backed by an all-new acoustic platform with three-layer diaphragms and dual neodymium magnets in each custom driver. A nine-microphone array handles calls and the brand’s strongest ANC to date, with up to 1.75x more total noise cancellation than the Studio Pro.

Adaptive EQ, Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking, and Dolby Atmos round out the affair.
