Before iPhones turned every camera into the same boring glass slab, the coolest thing you could pull out of your pocket was a skinny plastic bar with a cartridge in the back. The 110 format landed all the way back in 1972 and became a staple on road trips and sleepovers for over two decades. Unfortunately, like much of the tech from the 20th century, it ultimately ended up dying in junk drawers across the country.
But of course, what’s old is new again, and now Camp Snap, the brand behind the viral screen-free digital camera, has rebuilt that exact silhouette from scratch with the new Camp Snap 110D.
The Junk Drawer Icon, Reborn
At 143.2mm long and under an inch thick, the 110D nails the proportions of the original pocket shooters. It slides into a jeans pocket with ease, and there’s even a proper optical viewfinder on the end for framing shots.
And true to Camp Snap form, there’s no screen. The only display is a tiny segmented LCD for checking settings, which means you shoot now and see your photos later.
Five Filters, Zero Apps
Inside, the 110D borrows heavily from the Camp Snap 2, including the same 8MP Sony sensor and a 26mm-equivalent f/2.0 lens. The headline addition is a five-position slider that toggles between Standard, Vintage 1 and 2, Analog, and Black & White filters, all integrated right into the body of the camera (no app needed).
Hell, there’s even a 30.5mm filter thread up front for real screw-on glass. And the settings door locks down with screws, a holdover from the brand’s summer camp roots that parents will certainly appreciate.
Fixing the One Big Complaint
Now, if you’ve ever shot a Camp Snap, you know the knock has always been that annoying shutter lag. The 110D attempts to solve that issue with the brand’s fastest shutter button design yet, and promises near-instant response with a satisfying tactile click.
All of that is paired with the brand’s QuickDraw tech, which wakes the sleeping camera the moment you press the shutter. A full charge is good for roughly 500 photos, and the pre-installed 4GB microSD card holds around 2,000 shots.
