Since first coming onto the scene in 2014, Master & Dynamic has established itself as a key player in the premium audio gear market, producing a world class range of speakers, high-end headphones, and true wireless earbuds. One segment that the New York-based audio brand hasn’t previously tapped into, however, is the increasingly competitive gaming headphone space, though this is now changing with the debut of Master & Dynamic’s MG20 Wireless Gaming Headphones.
Touted as the first-ever “true luxury gaming headphone model,” the MG20 has been engineered using a spare-no-expense approach, and as such are crafted from some of the finest materials that money can buy. The headphones feature machined aluminum arms and angled magnesium ear-cups that are cloaked in genuine lambskin and perforated Alcantara and padded with memory foam cushioning. Boasting 22 hours of battery life on a single charge, the MG20 also gets a detachable metal-braided boom microphone that’s supplemented via an onboard embedded microphone setup, plus independent volume controls for in-game audio and insanely-low latency thanks to the use of Qualcomm’s aptX HD for music support and aptX for gaming. Wildly crisp and clear high-fidelity sound comes from a set of state-of-the-art 50mm Beryllium drivers backed by 7.1 surround sound and semi-open back acoustics. The use of Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity also affords the MG20 a 100′ (or 30m) range, while an ultra-low-latency USB-A adapter allows the MG20 to be compatible with next-gen consoles and PCs. Alongside connectivity to the M&D Connect app, the MG20 features equalizer presets in said app that allow users to select between sound profiles on the fly — a first for the company.
Produced in black or white color options, the Master & Dynamic MG20 Wireless Gaming Headphones will become available for purchase starting on November 16, with pricing for the model set at $449.
