You’re probably familiar with Android-powered smartwatches — at the end of the day, the majority of options not made by Apple make use of the Google-affiliated operating system. However, one tech brand that hasn’t taken the most advantage of the tech is Google itself… until now, that is, as the Silicon Valley giant has finally revealed its first-ever smartwatch.
Touted by its developers as “the first smartwatch built by Google, inside and out,” details about the upcoming release are rather sparse. The household name didn’t shed too much light on this digital timepiece but showed off a teaser at its annual I/O conference, and it sure is sleek. The aptly-named Google Pixel Watch features a circular, domed face and seems to be available with a handful of different colored bands.
As far as its capabilities are concerned, the Wear OS-powered device goes hand-in-hand with its design. It boasts Fitbit health tracking features, seamless connectivity across your Google accounts, and access to all your smart home devices, allowing you to control lights, temperature, and more directly from your wrist.
