Everyone loves a custom-ordered item. They carry with them a sense of personalization, exclusivity, and – dare we say – superiority. Nowadays, if you have the cash, you can customize practically anything. In fact, there are entire brands that cater to ritzy customers by offering bespoke goods and or services, all in the hope of making common items rare and exclusive. One such example is Caviar, an international brand that specializes in making exclusive designer smartphones and accessories handcrafted from luxury materials. While most of Caviar’s offerings display a certain level of in-your-face luxury, its latest release, a custom iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, takes a more time-honored route.
Caviar’s iPhone 2G, like all of its items, is ultra-premium and is produced in limited quantities. While most of its smartphones feature gold, jewels, or over-the-top designs, the luxury brand’s latest takes on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feature a far more understated design and a really cool tribute to the late Apple founder Steve Jobs. For the phone, Caviar’s artists used the unique design of the iPhone 13 Pro and combined it with parts from a first-generation iPhone. What resulted was a striking aesthetic that resembles the circuitry on a microchip. Of course, with this being a Caviar design, no stones were left unturned in terms of attention to detail. The body of the Caviar iPhone 13 Pro features an aviation-hardened titanium construction, while the lower part of the body sports a titanium finish with a black PVD coating and an engraved signature of Steve Jobs.
In the center of the back of the body is a sealed capsule in the shape of Apple’s signature bitten apple with a fragment of the original iPhone 2G motherboard. The back cover of the smartphone is decorated with a high-precision engraving depicting the technical elements of the device, which are connected together like a heart in the circulatory system. Caviar’s iPhone 2G versions of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are limited to 19 pieces and retail for $6,990.
