It’s finally time you can get back out in the wilderness without worrying about bad weather — well, at least not awfully cold weather. That said, there’s no better time than now for TAXA Outdoors to offer an overland-capable spin on its flagship Mantis camper.

While the Mantis already served as the manufacturer’s largest model yet, this bolstered iteration implements several elements to ensure it’s as durable as needed for a rugged road trip. These include a newly-added Lock’ N’ Roll Hitch and Timber axle-less suspension, which operate hand-in-hand to increase ground clearance and maintain a quiet ride. With a 4″ lift, the axle-less design allows you to take this bad boy off-road without the typical limitations set by standard models. Meanwhile, the articulation hitch boasts 360 degrees of rotation, providing a sense of movement you can’t expect to see with a ball hitch. Additionally, the Mantis 5.2 Overland sits atop a set of LT 255 tires that pave the way for unrivaled durability in more active scenarios, be it trudging through gravel, mud, or a whole jungle.

Construction aside, the amenities are as impressive as they are in the traditional Mantis, boasting a pop-out roof for ventilation and a thoughtfully-designed kitchen with baltic birch-wood cabinetry, two burner stoves, and a cooler platform. As far as sleeping arrangements go, the modular interior allows you to convert the bed to a dinette, a couch, or a small-scale personal office. Plus, seeing as this is practically a modern-day glamping machine, it features premium accessories across the board, including an integrated 12V electric system, wet bath, furnace, and hot water system. All things considered, whether you’re taking its 21 cubic feet interior on your own or with loved ones, there’s little room for error.
