Plenty of labels tout their apparel as rugged, durable, etc., but only a few brands go the extra mile to create something truly reliable. Vollebak is certainly one of them, and they take it a step further with futuristic designs boasting material used in the military, most notably in the 100 Year collection. After three years of research and development, Vollebak has reimagined the lineup’s hoodies and sweatpants to be more comfortable than ever before, while maintaining its unmatched utility in the new 100 Year range.
Building upon the previous 100 Year Hoodie, the new 100 Year Zip Through Hoodie and 100 Year Overhead Hoodie are much softer and lightweight compared to the OG (thanks to the added elastane and 4-way stretch) and use material that was originally developed for use in the military. That means it can withstand fire (with temperatures up to 4 times hotter than the sun) because over a third of the material blend is composed of something called modacrylic, a fire-resistant copolymer, along with aramid fibers (a material used in bulletproof vests). It’s coated in Polartec Hardface, a polymer surface treatment that makes the fabric more abrasion-resistant, as well as a water-repellent treatment to keep you dry (using a coating that’s free of any toxic fluorocarbons).
In addition to these two new hoodies, the collection also includes a pair of sweatpants and a crewneck. Both the 100 Year Sweatpants and 100 Year Crew Neck Sweatshirt use the same heavy-duty material as the hoodies, and also feature 4-way stretch and a warm fleece lining.
