YETI’s expansion playbook has quickly become a gear-world spectator sport. Of course, everyone knows the Austin brand got their start with bear-proof coolers, but it’s been pretty wild to watch just how rapidly they’ve expanded into new categories over the past year or two alone. Through all of it, the apparel page stayed stocked with nothing more than logo tees and trucker hats. And, if you think about it, that did always feel a bit off-brand for them considering over-engineered gear is part of the whole brand ethos.
Well, that era has just ended with the launch of YETI Performance Apparel, a five-piece technical collection headlined by two legitimately serious jackets.

Five Pieces, Zero Logo Tees
The lineup covers a complete layering system in both men’s and women’s sizing. There’s the Sansaba Fleece 260 Full-Zip ($180), a pair of merino mid-layers in the Caprock 250 Quarter-Zip ($200) and Hueco 310 Full-Zip ($280). And, as we mentioned, the two headliners are the Tilloo Hooded Rain Jacket ($350) and Tensleep Hooded Hybrid Down Jacket ($400).

Every piece carries YETI’s 3-year warranty. And per the brand, there are no intentionally added PFAS anywhere in the collection.

The Tilloo’s Numbers Are Kind of Absurd
The Tilloo is a true 3-layer shell, pairing a stretch ripstop Nylon66 face with a microporous waterproof membrane and a recycled polyester liner. All of it is backed by a 40,000 mm waterproof rating and 45,000 g/m²/24hr breathability.

For reference, Gore-Tex Pro, the fabric hanging on alpine guides the world over, typically rates around 28,000 mm. A cooler company’s first-ever rain shell out-numbering the industry’s gold standard on paper is, to put it lightly, quite the flex. Of course, lab figures are not the same as trail miles. But fully taped seams, a YKK AquaGuard zipper, and a bonded-brim hood suggest YETI didn’t phone in the details either.

Down Up Top, Wool Where You Sweat
The Tensleep features body-mapped insulation that places quick-drying, RDS-certified ExpeDRY down where warmth matters most. There’s also breathable European Lavalan wool covering the high-heat zones to help manage moisture and fight odor.

Wrap that in a stretch-woven face with a DWR finish, add cinchable hood and hem adjustments, and you’ve got a midweight that works solo or can even be layered under the Tilloo when winter starts to really get cold.
