For those who weren’t aware, Triple Aught Design’s Bastion Hoodie is an incredible piece of equipment built to endure frigid temperatures, and it seems as though the San Francisco brand is expanding the Bastion line with a new cold-tackling layer. With the new Bastion Parka, TAD is looking to deliver even greater performance with a different winter wardrobe necessity.
In an attempt to bolster “an expedition staple,” TAD’s team of garment engineers have crafted a parka that’s prepared to battle any possible forecast. The Bastion Parka’s shell is composed of nothing but nylon and treated with a water-repellent DWR finish. As far as the lining is concerned, the Bastion’s nylon ripstop makeup is water-repellent thanks to an additional DWR treatment that thwarts any chance of liquid seeping in. For warmth, the jacket features Polartec Power Fill insulation, an incredibly lightweight material that’s made from 100% post-consumer recycled content.
While its warming capabilities are notable, the Bastion’s plethora of storage space is equally impressive. This tactical parka boasts a bewildering fourteen compartments, six of which are zippered, so it’s got your gear covered in any occasion. Plus, for even more protection, the parka’s shoulders are padded with abrasion-resistant ripstop overlays. With so many distinguishable elements behind this piece, it’s a marvel that it maintains a weight of merely 26.45 ounces — of course, that is before you fill each of those handy pockets.
For the time being, Triple Aught Design has listed its Bastion Parka on its website for pre-sale. With only 300 garments available at the moment, we recommend getting your name in the mix as soon as possible. The new release from TAD is selling for $495 and is expected to ship throughout February.
