While Todd Snyder and Birdwell have joined forces in the past, their joint efforts tend to lean a bit casual, focusing solely on swimwear and relaxed beach attire. But for the pair’s latest capsule, they’re going a bit more formal with a collection that’s designed to take you from a beach wedding to the poolside reception.
The most notable pieces in this new collection are the Linen Traveler Suit Jacket and Pant. While sold separately, these two garments come together to make the perfect ensemble for a seaside wedding. The Italian linen suit jacket features a butterfly lining, a natural shoulder, and a double-vented back, striking the perfect balance between collected and casual. As far as the linen suit pant goes, it has a relaxed drawstring waist and will work as well with a standard tee as it does with the matching jacket.
Seeing as it’s summer, the collection also features two different pairs of shorts. For starters, the Linen Short serves as a perfect complement to the suit jacket if it’s a bit too hot for trousers (or if you’re just feeling particularly daring). The other offering is more in line with what we’re used to seeing from Birdwell: a pair of nylon swim trunks inspired by Birdwell’s beloved 310 board shorts. This vintage-washed garment is meant to resemble “30-40 years of natural wear,” and the myriad of colors in which it’s available managed to pull off this sun-aged look perfectly. The shorts come available in five palettes: Tan, Gold, Olive, Paprika, and Cocktail Camo.
