Salomon’s XT-4 is the epitome of an overnight classic, and the brand knows that as well as any of us. Taking inspiration from previous colorways, the French shoemaker has churned out a line of revived XT-4s — or, in sneakerhead’s terms, this is a ‘Retro’ lineup.
The three palettes at hand include the astral White/Ebony/Lunar Rock, the stark Black/Ebony/ Silver Metallic, and, undoubtedly, the loudest of them all, Fiery Red/Black/Empire Yellow. Regardless of which shoe you choose, there’s little room for error from a style or comfort perspective, as these shoes were practically built for all-day wear.
The XT-4 OG retains every bit of the traditional silhouette, including the proprietary Agile Chassis Skeleton that stretches from heel to toe, resulting in unrivaled stability. This is accompanied by a lugged Mud Contagrip outsole for trusty traction across any terrain, and a dual-density midsole for maximum cushioning that keeps the shoe lightweight. As far as the upper is concerned, Salomon uses anti-debris mesh and abrasion-resistant TPU for cleanliness and weatherizing capabilities. Lastly, each shoe is finished with the signature Quicklace lacing system for a streamlined look that’s easy to operate.
While you can expect more options to be available soon, all three mentioned colorways of the XT-4 OG are available on Salomon’s webshop now for $220.
