Paying tribute to MJ’s cultural impact across all three sports, Nike debuts a new golf shoe, the Air Jordan 9 G.
Combining all three of Jordan’s sports into one silhouette, the Air Jordan 9 G looks like a basketball sneaker on the outside with its black and white high-top design that includes the iconic Jumpman logo on the heel over a texture similar to the pebbles on a basketball. Meanwhile, the insoles are given the pinstripes and colors of MJ’s minor league club, the Birmingham Barons, as well as his number “45” on the back of the shoe.
Sporting seven removable Champs spikes underneath for on-course traction, the Air Jordan 9 G is a golf shoe at its core, designed to carry you through all 18 holes, if not more, with an upgraded memory foam insole that spans the length of the footbed for a soft cushioning and supportive ride in every step. Meanwhile, genuine leather elements have been given to the tongue for comfort and to make it easier to clean, as well as to the back of the midsole for stability when swinging. Also, waterproof layers are included to help keep your feet dry in wet conditions.
