Back in 2023, during London Fashion Week, Moncler and Roc Nation debuted their partnership at The Art of Genius event – “The Art of All” was an immersive entertainment experience that centered around a blend of audio and visuals, highlighting the sentiment that “genius is everywhere” and inspiring creatives to use their voice. Now, it’s a year later, and the duo is back with the Moncler x Roc Nation Designed by Jay-Z collection, a lineup of apparel that’s inspired by New York City, mountains, and music.
Kicking the collection off, we have a super unique puffer/bomber hybrid with an embossed crocodile pattern (very NYC), constructed with nylon and filled with down. The Antila Short Down Jacket isn’t as flashy, but it has a cool oversized fit and a (even more oversized) detachable hood. The logo tee and sweatshirt have the collaborative Roc Nation x Moncler logo on full display, but you can find it throughout the rest of the collection as well. Regarding headwear, there’s a wool beanie and a bucket hat designed to complement the looks from the collection, and a shearling bucket hat that just screams ‘90s New York City. The collection even dips into workwear a bit, with a pair of cotton canvas pants inspired by the classic workman silhouette.
Both brands worked together to make this collection a love letter to New York City, with Hova taking classic Moncler design motifs and imbuing them with some casual luxury. The duo took inspiration from mountain ranges, subways, skylines, and the overall vibe of the Big Apple to make a collection that fuses fashion with city culture.
