You may not believe it, but jeans used to serve as a premium form of workwear, and while common fashion trends have led people to think casually dressing in the latter is normal, that wasn’t the case nine decades ago. If any brand knows this and the history of jeans overall, it’s obviously Levi’s. To shed some light on the heritage of its timeless designs, the world-famous clothier’s Vintage Clothing Line has churned out a pair of 501s inspired by a pair of 1937.

The 501 1937 ‘Japan’ intends to emulate the specific silhouette that first appeared at the decade’s tail end. For an added bit of trivia, it was the first pair of Levi’s to feature the heritage label’s highly sought-after Red Tab found on the back pocket, going to show that they are as much a lesson in archival fashion as they are a simple pair of denim bottoms.

Additional details spread throughout the pair harken back to the brand’s roots, including Katakana symbols and branding to fully implement the original look. Moreover, the Japanese-made straight-leg jeans are composed of 12oz Japanese Selvedge denim and finished with a traditional 5-pocket array, a back cinch tab, and a button fly for optimal convenience, sturdiness, and, most of all, timeless style.

The newly-revealed limited edition 501s will be available on END. exclusively starting February 14 for $485. Enter for your chance to get them today.
