We’re living in the heyday of slip-ons and slides, with labels clamoring to drop their take on Croc and Yeezy-inspired silhouettes. And with all of these unique options to choose from, it can be easy to forget that certain brands have been innovating in the space from the jump. Nike is undoubtedly one of these brands, and with recent releases like the Calm Slide (and Calm Mules), it’s clear that the Swoosh is continuing to push the industry forward. Jordan Brand, on the other hand, isn’t exactly known for its slides (although there are plenty of great picks, and the upcoming Air Jordan Mule looks very interesting), but that’s about to change with the release of the Jordan Roam.
Made with lightweight foam, these modern slides feature some Croc-like perforations on the upper (which is heavily inspired by the Jordan Trunners) and come with a textured footbed to keep your feet in place. On the outsole, you get these unique textured pods and coconut milk-colored rubber on the heel and forefoot for added traction. They’re finished with some Jordan branding on the sides and the outsole, marking another innovative piece from the legendary brand.
These slides come packed in an exclusive box that denotes the silhouette’s inspirations and the Jordan Motorsport heritage they’re drawing from (best seen in the dramatic curves of the slides). At the time of writing, it looks like the only colorway on release will be the sail and coconut milk combo featured here. The summer release window is also the perfect time for these slides to drop, combining the support of a sneaker and the breathability of a slide.
