With well over 150 years of know-how, Blundstone has withstood the changing tides of needs and trends, as well as the volatility of our global economy. The birth of its most iconic silhouette, the Original Chelsea boot, came from increased demand for boots following the Second World War. Since then, the materials may have evolved with changing technology, but the quality remains.
If the Chelsea Boot weren’t already perfect, Blundstone has introduced new versions of the shoe, now with a thicker lug sole. The Lug boot retains the Australian-based company’s hallmarks, such as the laceless uppers and the signature pull tab on the back, but takes the traditional vulcanized rubber soles to the next level. With the size of the soles increasing, the boot now sports a new look and shock-absorbing utility that are reminiscent of the brand’s work boots, whose deeper grooves also help ensure you stay slip-free on most surfaces.
While rugged in overall function, the stylish leather still defines the materials, lining the inside and outside and providing water resistance. The footbed sports Comfort Arch with XRD Technology and a polyurethane midsole so you can actually wear these all day long, as opposed to some work boots that become cumbersome after a long day. XRD is also outfitted on the heel for added comfort and the steel shank built into the boot provides added support in rougher conditions
Sold in black, rustic black, and rustic brown, the Chelsea Lug Boot is now available on Blundstone’s website for $235.
