From the Wayfarer to the Aviator, each of Ray Ban’s eyewear designs are so recognizable that they could genuinely conjure up their own museum exhibit. However, the iconic brand is looking to reflect on its past less than it hopes to push things forward, with its latest Mega silhouette serving as another attempt.
Now equipped with a bolder browline and noticeably larger temples, the Mega Clubmaster is Ray Ban’s latest addition to its modernized Mega line; it is the second silhouette to garner the new look after its relatively new pair of Wayfarers hit the scene late last year. While the shades first came about in the late ’50s, there’s no denying just how popular they’ve remained since, appearing in everything from movies to TV shows along the way.
Upon re-designing the iconic Clubmaster design, the Luxottica-owned brand has given the timeless shades a whole new life, deeming its new, chunkier look on par with some of the modern scene’s most popular designs. The Mega Clubmaster is being delivered in a total of seven striking colors, including the pictured Grey on Black look and similarly beloved palettes like Black on Gold fitted with Ray Ban’s famous Green Classic lenses. Best of all, it is sold with a variety of different lenses, too, including Gradient and Polarized options.
The Mega Clubmaster is available on Ray Ban’s webshop starting from $174.
