Indoor trainer season is one of the more grueling parts of the cycling calendar. Around week three of staring at a virtual peloton, even the most devoted roadie starts eyeing a pair of running shoes. And Copenhagen’s Pas Normal Studios has clearly made peace with that betrayal. Together with Salomon, the cycling label just unveiled its sixth collaborative capsule, a winterized gravel running kit headlined by the Aero Blaze 4 GRVL GTX.

From Carbon Super Shoe to Slush-Season Trainer
This isn’t the first time these two beloved brands have linked up. Back in May, the duo’s fifth outing gave us the GRVL Concept, a $300 carbon-plated super shoe that made the case for gravel running as a legitimate discipline.

Round six answers the obvious follow-up question: what does everyone wear the other 360 days a year? Rather than more race-day exotica, this capsule is aimed squarely at everyday winter mileage. This time around, they’ve swapped the carbon plates for waterproofing.

The collab’s “Road to Nowhere” motif returns as well, stamped on the sidewall as a nod to the aimless exploring both brands have been preaching since 2024’s DRX Defy GRVL.

GORE-TEX Where It Counts
The Aero Blaze 4 GRVL GTX takes Salomon’s recently launched mixed-surface daily trainer and seals it up for the nastier months of the year. A full GORE-TEX membrane keeps the slush out, while optiFOAM² cushioning handles the 35mm of stack underfoot.

Down below sits a Gravel Contagrip outsole outfitted with 2.5mm chevron lugs (it’s the same tread Salomon modeled on gravel bike tires). At 239 grams with an 8mm drop and Quicklace cinching the fit, it’s a properly runnable package.

The PNS version lands at $180, a $20 bump over Salomon’s in-line GTX model.

Carry Gear, Minus the Hi-Vis
Rounding out the capsule are two ways to haul your winter essentials. The GRVL Concept Skin 2 vest ($210) adapts Salomon’s race-bred hydration fit to PNS’s stripped-back Nordic look. And the slim S/LAB Belt ($70) handles keys, gels, and a phone without the bounce.

Everything wears the same muted peat, light brown, and burgundy palette.
