Nowadays, it seems like Nike releases a new pair of Dunks weekly, but one of 2022’s coolest reveals is yet to hit store shelves or the SNKRS app. From one collaboration to the next, the Beaverton-bred performance giant‘s skating sublabel has put forth a highly coveted array of kicks, and the upcoming Polaroid SB Dunk Lows have us shaking in our shoes (on purpose).
Nostalgia-inducing from every angle, this unique alliance is highlighted by fitting details courtesy of Polaroid’s signature rainbow color palette. A trio of vibrant Swooshes accent what is primarily a black-and-white pair of Lows, while the heel tab and aglets now read Polaroid, and the toebox features the brand’s trademark stripe logo. As an added touch, the outsole features the iconic instant cam company’s unmistakable red button, but we don’t think you’ll be taking any photos with these.
The Minnesota-based shutterbugs are no stranger to the lore of sneaker culture, having partnered with Puma in the past and collaborating on a variety of the brand’s popular modern offerings. Be that as it may, with the amount of anticipation that accompanies any pair of Nike’s iconic skating shoes, one could assume these Dunks are bound to eclipse any of Polaroid’s previous sneaker efforts.
Polaroid has announced that the colorful new joint effort will be available on April 5th. Although no formal pricing information has been revealed, it’s safe to expect they’ll be available for somewhere around the Dunks’ standard price of $120 — until they hit the resale market, of course.
