New Balance’s 574 Legacy is already one of the performance brand’s most wearable silhouettes, and Stone Island just put its technical twist on the popular kicks to make matters even more effortless. The latest collaborative pair of steppers is yet another joint effort between the two familiar labels, and it’s no surprise to see them turn out this chic.
This partnership sees the shoe undergo a unique militant influence, which is no surprise considering Stone Island’s typically tactical catalog. The Italian clothier works its distinctive brand of garment engineering by using premium materials to compose the shoe, including suede overlays wrapped across a sturdy ripstop upper. While the shoe is typically constructed from breathable mesh, these elements are a significant upgrade from both a performance and style perspective, as it is doused in subtle shades of gray and green.
Comfort-wise, the shoe retains New Balance’s ENCAP foam technology through the midsoles to provide a proper amount of bounce with every step you take. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Stone Island piece if not for the inimitable compass logo, which appears on the shoe’s tongue, accompanied by other co-branded details to acknowledge the joint effort.
The Stone Island x New Balance 574 Legacy will be available through each brand’s webshop starting February 16 for $140.
