Also known simply as “THE OFFROAD COMPANY,” delta4x4 is a Bavarian off-road tuning outfit that’s spent more than 40 years producing go-anywhere upgrades for a variety of trucks and SUVs. Based in Unterumbach, delta4x4 doesn’t merely produce lift kits or crash protection components, but also meticulously develops advanced off-road packages such as its envelop-pushing safari 911 kit and ultra-luxe Rolls-Royce Cullinan off-road package. And the company’s latest go-anywhere offering sees Mercedes’ iconic G-Wagen bestowed with a set of tank-style snow ski tracks.
Born out of a collaboration between delta4x4 and Capricorn Trucks, this ambitious build started life as a Mercedes-AMG G63 model. After being gifted a multi-inch lift-kit, the vehicle was then bestowed with a snow track kit that sees all four wheels swapped out for tank-style tracks. What’s more, delta4x4 is also offering fully road-legal versions of its snow track-kitted G-Wagen, though thus far this offering is exclusively available in the Swiss market.
In addition to the snow tracks and lift kit, delta has also treated the AMG-Wagen to a host of other off-road upgrades. This includes a custom roof-rack, a set of LED light bars, flared fenders at all four corners, a black skid plate, and a custom front bumper that now accommodates an additional pair of PIAA auxiliary lights. The company has also replaced the G63’s Three-Pointed Star logo with a custom delta4x4 grille badge.
