If you’ve had the privilege of pricing out your own camper conversion knows that the math never really seems to work out. You either gut a perfectly good van for a build you’ll use ten weekends a year, or you buy a camping box and accept that the word “kitchen” now means nothing more than cutting board and a butane burner.
Vanna Camp, a South Tyrol startup founded by 20-year automotive supplier veteran Florian Haller, has decided that their has to be third option. And that third option is the Cubivan Camping System.
Standing Height From a Trunk Box
Packed for travel, the CCS is a big cube occupying the trunk and third row of a VW ID. Buzz (the show van) or any of the brand’s listed trio of Caravelle, Tourneo Custom, and Vito. Simply park it at a campsite, and the whole thing slides out of the tailgate on a convenient rail system.
And that’s not all it does either. The roof lifts, the floor drops clear to the ground, and suddenly you have a 6.2-foot-tall room with insulated fiber-reinforced plastic walls and 90cm counters.
Setup is fully manual, but a network of cranks and gas struts means one person can deploy it without any heaving lifting.
A Timeshare Between Stove and Shower
Inside, a kitchen block with a stove and sink pivots into position. There’s even a compressor fridge stationed in the inner section alongside a 25-liter freshwater tank feeding the whole affair. A portable toilet slides out of the lower cabinet, and a shower occupies the same 35″ x 37″ floor.
It is worth mentioning that those two functions alternate. Swing the kitchen back toward the van and the room becomes a proper wet bath, so nobody’s rinsing off over the burners.
The Bedroom Went Upstairs
Sleeping happens on the roof, where a hard-walled pod replaces the van’s stock lid and folds down to sit just 3.9 inches proud of the roofline. Unfolded, it forms a four-walled room around a large 79″ x 79″ mattress.
The rear cube lifts out entirely after a trip, returning the van to school-run duty.

Reservations are open now starting at €150 (climbing to €600 by December), with every deposit credited at a flat €1,000 toward purchase. Order books open in summer 2027 with deliveries targeted for the end of that year, and the modules will also sell separately at roughly €16,000-17,000 for the cube and €7,000-8,000 for the roof.
