Around this same time in 2021, it was announced that Buell Motorcycles would be relaunching. And while the company’s revival would start with fully-faired and naked 1190-based superbikes, it also stated its intentions of introducing no less than 10 models by 2024. After previously showing off an upcoming adventure bike and dirt bike, Buell Motorcycles has now revealed plans for its next model, a high-performance power cruiser developed in collaboration with Roland Sands Design.
Christened the Super Cruiser 1190, Buell and RSD have collaborated on this one-off prototype, which will be used to develop a final production model a few years down the road. Pieced together around a custom tubular chromoly steel chassis, the Super Cruiser 1190 is powered by the same 180-hp liquid-cooled 1,190cc 72° V-Twin found in the Buell 1190 SX. In total, the Super Cruiser 1190 weighs in at around 450lbs. More than just looking the part, the Super Cruiser 1190 is expected to be one of the highest-performance cruisers available when it eventually hits the market.
Utilizing a combination of off-the-shelf Buell superbike parts and custom and aftermarket RSD components, the bike boasts a custom fuel tank, a Saddlemen seat, 17” sport bike wheels, tapered bars, a circular 5.5” LED headlight, and GP-tuned suspension with a raked and extended fork and a Penske rear shock. In typical Buell fashion, the Super Cruiser also sports a perimeter brake disc brake up front. Other noteworthy elements include an upgraded race-spec cooling system, a Memphis Shades front fairing, a Buell TFT display, and an SC-Project exhaust. We also anticipate the final production model to be a more refined-looking machine with less of a custom-inspired feel and more of a factory-level finish.
Though pricing and availability have yet to be announced, Buell Motorcycles has revealed that the Buell Super Cruiser 1190 is slated for a release in 2025. Interested parties can currently put down a deposit in order to preorder a Super Cruiser 1190 on the Buell Motorcycles website. .
