Vagabund & NINE ELEVEN OUTLAW Collab on a Porsche 944 Safari Kit

Founded in Graz, Austria in 2015, Vagabund Moto has undeniably become one of the most eminent customs shops on the planet. And after spending its first half-decade in operation churning out one-off two-wheelers, in 2020 and 2021, the Austrian outfit completed its first two custom car builds with a bespoke Lada Niva 4×4 and a modified BMW 850i. Spurred on by the success of its first pair of four-wheeled works, Vagabund has now joined forces with fellow Austria-based off-road moto racer Tom Boder and Joel Kernasenko of Austrian Porsche parts producer NINE ELEVEN OUTLAW to deliver a transformative go-anywhere Safari Kit for the Stuttgart marque’s ‘80s-era 944.

The front-engined, rear-wheel-drive Porsche that the project is based on has been treated to a myriad of crucial off-road-focused upgrades. This includes a full set of Klassik Rader 944 wheels wrapped in the third-generation of Michelin’s X-Ice North 3 studded winter tires, a suspension lift kit, a skid plate, and a custom roof rack that now accommodates a full-sized Klassik Rader spare along with a Pelican-style hard case. What’s more, the 944’s pop-up headlights have also been supplemented via a hood-mounted quad-unit HELLA Rallye 1000 light pod protected behind stone shields. Thus far, the all-Austrian effort has only revealed a prototype of the kit — known as the “2022 First Edition” — though the collection of parts is slated to enter production shortly, albeit in limited numbers. And, like all parts produced by NINE ELEVEN OUTLAW, we expect the entire kit to be of incredibly high quality and craftsmanship.

Compatible with all 944/924 models produced between 1982 and 1991, the Vagabund Moto x NINE ELEVEN OUTLAW 944 Safari Kit can be purchased through NINE ELEVEN OUTLAW. Contact them at their website for pricing and more information.
