Every car designer has a hard drive full of ideas that would never survive a meeting with the engineering department. So when Activision came calling with none of those constraints attached, Aston Martin’s design team went full send and delivered the Dreadnought, a V12-powered tactical SUV built exclusively for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
Fear Nothing
Dreadnought literally means “fear nothing,” but it also nods to HMS Dreadnought, the 1906 British battleship so far ahead of its time that it rendered every other warship on the planet obsolete overnight.
Aston leaned all the way into the military brief. The SUV packs military-grade armor plating, reserve fuel tanks, dedicated weapons storage, and “adaptive combat zone intelligence systems.”
Savile Row Meets the Warzone
Underneath the battle dress, though, this is still very much an Aston. The body wears the brand’s Chiltern Green paint over a carbon fiber chassis, and the exterior carbon sports a herringbone weave that has no business being on a battlefield SUV.
Inside, an Oxford Tan leather dashboard shares space with door hinges anodized in Satin Gold and a metallic gold gear lever rising from the center console.
A V12 With Respawn Privileges
Powering all of this is a proper Aston Martin V12 driving all four wheels, and Infinity Ward says the animation, physics, and handling were engineered from the ground up to feel authentic to the brand. The studio also calls it the most aggressive all-wheel drive setup in Modern Warfare 4, a superlative we never expected to type.
Players can hunt down the Dreadnought at key points of interest in both DMZ and Warzone modes at launch.
