Lazzarini Design’s Pearlsuite Concept Brings Emission-Free Luxury Out to Sea

As cool as they may be, the stigma behind superyachts being horrendous for the environment is a fair one, which is why we’re always impressed to see a concept delivering an eco-friendly, five-star experience to the ocean. To transcend seafaring beyond our wildest imagination, Lazzarini designed the Pearlsuites, pod-like vessels that share more commonalities with a Four Seasons suite than they do a leisure boat.

The solar-powered vessel measures about 23 feet in diameter, primarily composed of its shell and hull that assist in creating sustainable energy to power the Pearlsuite’s bevy of appliances. And while Lazzarini didn’t offer much in the way of performances specs, the smooth sailing pod is said to travel as fast as 5 knots.

Seeing as Lazzarini couldn’t assume how many people will be traveling on these at a time, the Italian firm put forth a handful of varying models, one of which is fully equipped with a TV, writing desk, and cozy double-bed. Made in collaboration with Jet Capsule, a manufacturer striving toward sustainable sea travel, Lazzarini’s notable design flair has combined with the aforementioned company’s eco-cognizance to unveil an entirely new take on living the good life at sea.

While we’re as excited to hop in one of these as you are, time will only tell when we can step foot on Lazzarini’s luxurious new concept. In the meantime, you can take a deeper look at the bewilderingly well-crafted Pearlsuite on the firm’s website.
